Cassie Hecker | Owner & Founder

Originally from Cincinnati, Cassie's love of fitness and all things active began as a youth with ballet lessons and tee-ball games. She soon discovered that she enjoyed the conditioning aspect of practice better than the actual competition.

While attending college at Xavier University (Go Muskies!), she began her fitness career behind the front desk of a local gym – where she was able to take all the spinning, Pilates, and strength training classes that she could stand! And the seed was planted...

With now over 17 years of experience as a trainer, she’s earned multiple certifications in personal training and group fitness (NASM), Pilates (Power Pilates), and nutrition (Precision Nutrition). And while she’s well-educated in the science of physical fitness, her training philosophy is simple – Being healthy should be fun!


Andrew is a Bay Area native from the Concord area.  He grew up playing rugby and wrestling and from these sports developed a passion for weightlifting and all things fitness. 

His most recent addiction has been indoor rowing and he can’t wait to get on Lake Merrit to try rowing with a crew.  He has worked in many fitness studios, both locally owned studios and bigger national studios, and is loving the intense and fast-paced Sweat workout.  Outside of fitness, his other passion is music and he loves going to music shows and dancing the night away.  You can expect an energizing loud class from Andrew that is sure to get your heart pumping.

Justin has been a HIIT group fitness instructor with Sweat since 2017. Originally from Melbourne, Australia he grew up playing sports and continued competing through college (B.Ed. + BS). When he's not at Sweat, he's playing Australian Rules Football or swimming some laps to recover.

Rachelle is a NASM certified personal trainer and certified group fitness instructor (Les Mills BODYPUMP and BODYATTACK). An editor by trade, Rachelle previously worked as the editor of 24Life, the digital lifestyle magazine and blog for 24 Hour Fitness, where she interviewed some of the top names in health and fitness, wrote and produced workouts, and more. She was also responsible for creating, directing, and overseeing much of the fitness content for the company's fitness app, 24GO, as well as the company's digital and print marketing campaigns. She is an East Bay native, and currently works as a cookbook editor, where she channels her second passion for food and cooking!

Originally from Connecticut, Ashley is passionate about preventative health and encouraging others to feel good through exercise and nutrition. Ashley loves the Bay - where she can run, bike, roller skate and try lots of new plant based recipes.

Paula is a former collegiate track athlete, certified run coach and personal trainer, and also the General Manager of LinkedIn's corporate wellness program. She enjoy hiking, road tripping, trying new (healthy!) recipes, and running.

Her biggest passion is helping people live a healthy, active lifestyle and she is here to help you go the extra mile!

Brenda-Jane first started coaching health and fitness after successfully transforming her own body in less than one year,  through consistent daily practices, while still enjoying a few of life’s indulgences.  This made her journey different from most because she learned that she didn’t have to trade in birthday dinners with friends, happy hours, vacations, and more for health and fitness. This is what she wants to share with you.

Jason was born and raised in Sacramento. He has a career in fashion but fitness has always been a huge passion of his. As a NASM CPT, he inherited his athleticism from his parents who he grew up watching play co-ed sports. Jason gets joy from helping others achieve (and is a stickler for form!).

Watson (Now available for private session) 


Born and raised in Berkeley, California Watson grew up playing a variety of sports competitively and recreationally. He played soccer at UCSB and has been able to continue playing semi-professionally in Southern California, the Bay Area, and in Greece. As a NASM Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist/Personal Trainer and EXOS Performance Specialist his goal is to help guide people to higher levels of physical fitness/education to encourage the creation of new sustainable habits that lead to success and make exercise/fitness fun.

Jesse is a practicing MMA fighter and first generation immigrant from Nicaragua, raised here in the Bay (fluent in English & Spanish). "I was obese as a kid, and looked for a scientific way to become the person I wanted to be and pursued a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. Through my studies I learned that movement is medicine, and necessary for everyone to live their best life".


He is motivated to keep up with his own fitness and continues to practice martial arts, competing with a 2-0 record in MMA and was a 2x California State Grappling Champion at 185 lbs.

Intending to become a physician, and passionate for preventive health, Lexie has a strong belief that exercising not only builds muscle strength but helps improve our mood and memory. She enjoys helping people reach their health goals while approaching every fitness level with encouragement and care. Originally from Houston, Texas, Lexie loves scary movies, algebra, and developing the perfect workout playlist!

As a lifelong runner, Katie quickly saw the benefits of adding in Strength Training and HIIT cardio three years ago when she first came to Sweat. Wanting to share her love of fitness and help others see the benefits, Katie joined the team a year later. 

Katie's motivating classes are filled with a mix of 00s hip hop, encouraging words, and the right amount of "pushing"!

At Sweat we have a very simple philosophy: every body can train to be stronger and function better.

Exercising is a positive experience, and should be fun (for the clients and the trainer!) Our purpose is to adapt every workout to each client's needs: proper form, stability challenges, lifting to failure (medium density training), HIIT Cardio, and of course a healthy dose of Sweat!

We are always looking for killer teammates, for outdoor and virtual classes, private sessions and we rent out the space for you to train your own people.
